EU funding to fight bovine TB in England

This is an extract from a reply received on 27th March 2009 sent by DEFRA in response to the FOI request shown in Reference 1.

" EU funding bid for, granted and spent on Bovine TB in England for the years 1998 to 2009 inclusive consisted only of LVI fees in 2006 and 2007. In 2006, we paid out a total of £203,281 to 2313 LVIs and £42,301 direct to herd owners to cover the costs of one free pre-movement test. In January 2007, £9,997 was paid to 2509 LVI’s under the same scheme.

We have not included EU funding applied for by Defra agencies for multi-national research projects. "
